We believe Christ gave baptism to his church as a primary means of making disciples and entrance into new life. We baptize people of all ages.

We believe communion was commanded by Jesus as a remembrance meal of his sacrifice for our sins. In communion, the bread that we eat participates with the body of Christ, and the wine (or juice) that we drink participates with the blood of Christ.

We believe good works are evidence of saving faith. We are to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves. In obedience to Christ’s commission, we are to make disciples among all people and show Jesus to the world around us through our words and actions.

God is the Creator of all things and rules over all things, bringing about his eternal good purposes. We believe God exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus is the Son of God who became human and lived perfectly while on earth. By dying on the cross, he paid for the sins of the world, and by his resurrection, Christ Jesus defeated Satan and brought everlasting life to all his people. We believe salvation is found in Jesus alone. 

We believe that God has inspired the words in the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. These writings alone constitute the verbally inspired Word of God, which is, without error in the original writings, complete in its revelation of his will for salvation, sufficient for all that God requires us to believe and do, and final in its authority over every domain to which it speaks. The Bible is completely sufficient for instructing us in the will, knowledge, and love of God. We believe that all the Scriptures point to Jesus and the salvation he accomplished.

We receive the free gift of forgiveness only through faith. True faith is trusting in Jesus Christ and his redemptive work. Although Jesus died for all, Scripture says that whoever does not believe will be condemned. We believe heaven and hell are real, and we all will end up in one of those two places.

The Elders serve as overseers and protectors of Hope Church. They are responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the lead pastor according to the criteria of faithfulness to the Word of God, Advancement of Hope’s mission and vision, and strategic use of Hope’s resources towards pursuing the vision. The Elders are not responsible for specific projects or areas of ministry. The authority of the Elders rests in the entire board and not in any individual Elder. Today, six individuals serve as Hope Church Elders.
