Amen
The Serious Statements of Jesus
Jesus often began his most important teachings with a bold statement: "Amen, I say to you." Some translations say, "Truly, truly," or "I tell you the truth."
When Jesus used these words, he wasn’t just making a point—he was declaring something of exceptional importance.
In this series, we’ll explore the powerful "Amen" sayings of Jesus and what they reveal about the meaning and purpose of his death.

Episode 1
Greatness is something many of us desire from an early age. Many of us grew up idolizing movie stars, musicians, athletes, and influencers hoping one day to become like them. We want to grow up, make a lot of cash, and probably most of all, be seen. Yet many of those that make it, feel like they missed it. In this week’s “Amen,” we learn from Jesus that you can’t earn greatness. You can only receive it.
Episode 2
Does God seem real, or is he more like an abstraction? Is God a palpable source of strength in the face of adversity? In this week’s “Amen” from Jesus, we learn that it’s not until you believe that God shows up in the middle of nowhere that you can experience the reality of God’s presence everywhere.
Episode 3
What if the very thing you’re confident in.... is actually holding you back? Jesus told two surprising stories that challenge the way we think about faith, pride, and what really matters to God. There's one important thing that gets you into heaven.
Episode 4
True glory is found in sacrifice, not self-preservation. In this week’s “Amen” from Jesus, He declares that His "hour" has come—not just for His death, but for His glorification. It’s a surprising truth: the path to glory is through surrender, and the way to life is through letting go. Just like a seed, it’s only by falling to
the ground and dying to this world that we can experience the abundance and fruitfulness of eternal life. The fall isn’t the end—it’s the beginning of transformation and the fullness of God’s glory.
Episode 5
We all like to present our best version of ourselves. It is easy to embellish or ignore the parts we don’t like in order to impress others. But that version is not who we truly are. Thankfully, Jesus is not fooled by our swagger. This week we see that Jesus responds to our bravado with the hopes it will lead to our brokenness.
